Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and tap Record.

Is my audio sent anywhere?

No. Recordings, transcripts and summaries stay on your iPhone.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Recording and transcripts work on any iPhone with iOS 26. Summaries need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer).

Why does it download something the first time?

The speech model is too large to ship inside the app, so it downloads once. After that Referat works offline.

Can I record other people?

Always tell others you are recording. Rules differ between countries, so getting consent is your responsibility.

Does it cost anything?

No. Referat is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
